I am often wondering where the idea of "good" came from and how it is possible to perceive certain things as "bad". Who invented the narration of the protagonist and antagonist, the hero and the villain? It seems to me, that thinking of right and wrong is the same as thinking of what to say next in a conversation - it makes you incapable of listening. So, I spend most of my days working on spaces, films, and objects that contain neither right, nor wrong, but [         ] They live on fragility; in the tension of being in-between. Some days they act alive, other days they fall apart. On the nicest days they breathe with me.

The short film, My name is the sound I use to introduce myself, is a reflection on the absurdity of the mundane rules we not only choose to follow but as well force to force to follow. As waiting for the light to turn from red to green on the cross-path. By waiting, you as well ask others to wait. The concept of the film was born while babysitting a child of a friend. In the role as the adult I found myself enforcing rules I had been fighting against even before I had developed a verbal language. My position as the adult shocked me. Clearly knowing my ideals I regardless acted against them. I thought to myself that growing up was like a dance you couldn't escape, and I am still searching for the footsteps that will free me from following the moves I am expected to do.

As humans we perceive and by perception we judge. In-between perception and judgment the presumptions live. The presumptions are happy to help us perceive. Sometimes so happy that I wonder whether we lost our sense of perception. Whether we just assume, because assuming is the easiest.

I find “truth” a fascinating flexible matter. We might talk about an objective truth while knowing that one day people woke up finding themselves orbiting The Sun, just after The Sun had been orbiting them since the beginning of times, and after all, nothing had changed.

The only space I know of, that is free from social convictions, is under the surface of the sea, when I am diving as close to the sand as possible. There my body is weightless. Gently moved back and forth by the waves. My ears are filled with the clicking sound of stones and sand. There I can be free from the rules of society, as long as I can hold my breath.
